Automated scanning and penetration testing solve related but different problems. Scanning provides repeatable visibility into public signals; a pentest can validate application behavior, authorization, business logic and exploitation paths within an agreed scope.
Use both intentionally
Continuous scanning is useful for regression visibility. Periodic expert testing can uncover contextual weaknesses that automated checks cannot reliably prove.
